This policy covers both Little Keys (the website at littlekeys.co.uk) and Little Taps (the iOS and Android app). We take the privacy of children and their families seriously and have designed both products to collect as little data as possible.

1. Who We Are

Little Keys and Little Taps are operated by Blvck Studios, based in London, United Kingdom.

2. The App — Little Taps (iOS & Android)

🔒 Little Taps collects no personal data whatsoever.

No user accounts or registration
No names, emails or contact details collected
No location data
No device identifiers or IP addresses collected
No advertising or tracking SDKs
No data shared with third parties for marketing or profiling
All settings (theme, age group, volume, etc.) are stored locally on your device only

2a. Anonymous Global Tap Counter

The app includes one online feature: an anonymous global tap counter that shows the total number of taps made by all Little Taps users worldwide. This is a single shared number — it is not linked to any individual user, device, or child.

How the tap counter works

Each tap in the app increments a single cumulative counter
The counter is stored on Google Firebase Realtime Database (EU region — europe-west1)
No personal data, device identifiers, IP addresses, or usage patterns are stored or transmitted
The only data sent is a number (e.g. +10 taps) added to the global total
Firebase does not set cookies or use tracking pixels in the app
The counter is read-only for display and write-only for incrementing — there is no way to trace taps back to any individual
The app works fully offline — the counter syncs only when an internet connection is available

This feature exists solely to create a fun, shared sense of community ("Total taps by little fingers worldwide"). No analytics, behavioural data, or personal information of any kind is derived from it.

Google Firebase is subject to Google's Firebase privacy documentation and Google's Privacy Policy. We use only Firebase Realtime Database — no other Firebase services (Analytics, Crashlytics, etc.) are integrated.

Little Taps is designed as a safe, closed environment for young children (ages 0–6).

3. The Website — Little Keys (littlekeys.co.uk)

The website uses Google Analytics (GA4) to collect anonymous usage statistics — such as which pages are visited and how long sessions last. This helps us understand how the site is used and improve it.

Google Analytics data is:

Anonymised — IP addresses are not stored
Never used to identify individual users
Subject to Google's own privacy policy

We do not use any advertising networks, affiliate trackers, or other third-party scripts on the website.

4. Cookies

The website uses cookies only for Google Analytics. These are first-party analytics cookies that expire after 2 years. No cookies are used by the Little Taps app.

You can opt out of Google Analytics cookies at any time using the cookie banner on the site, or by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA & UK GDPR)

Little Taps is intended for use by children aged 0–6, under the supervision of a parent or guardian. We are fully committed to children's privacy:

The app collects no personal data from children
The only data transmitted is an anonymous cumulative tap count (a single integer) — see Section 2a above
There are no in-app purchases or advertisements
There is no way for a child to input or share personal information
We do not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13

The website (littlekeys.co.uk) is directed at parents and caregivers, not at children directly.

6. Data Storage & Retention

The app stores your chosen settings (theme, age group, volume etc.) locally on your device using the device's own storage. This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

The anonymous global tap counter is stored on Google Firebase Realtime Database in the EU (europe-west1). It contains only a single cumulative number and no personal data.

Google Analytics data on the website is retained for 14 months as per Google's default settings.

7. Your Rights (UK GDPR)

As a UK resident you have the right to access, correct or delete any personal data we hold about you. Given that we collect virtually no personal data, there is rarely anything to action — but if you have a concern, please contact us:

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the app or website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
